Schools & colleges
Are you a student, a teacher or perhaps know a local school that may be interested in hearing about WOMANKIND Worldwide? Then get in touch and find out how your school could learn about women’s human rights and what courageous women around the world are doing to stand up against inequality. We may be able to send someone from our speakers’ network to talk at an assembly or to a PSHE class.
Perhaps you could nominate WOMANKIND as the school’s charity of the year ― or simply get your class to organise a one-off event for us. Raising funds for charity can be lots of fun; there are so many things you can choose to do. A school in Greenwich organised a sponsored walk and raised over £5,000.
The Year Nine girls at a Ricards Lodge School in Wimbledon organised a beauty parlour and charged fellow students for services such as henna painting and manicures and also held a sponsored rounders match between staff and students raising £640.
Whatever you plump for, we are here to offer you personal support and advice ― and can supply posters, leaflets and sponsorship forms. We will also send a certificate for the amount raised and, where possible, someone from WOMANKIND will come to the school to accept the donation and present the certificate. Universities
Raise money for WOMANKIND through your student union. You could nominate us to your RAG committee or you could get your own society to organise an event. Aberdeen University Women’s Society held an ‘Ironic 1950s-housewife cake sale’, handing out our leaflets to everyone buying a cake. The University of London Union put on a production of the Vagina Monologues in aid of WOMANKIND and raised almost £1,000 to go towards our work.
By holding an event in aid of WOMANKIND Worldwide you won’t just be raising funds for a good cause, you will be raising awareness of the issues women are facing across the world. You will be helping to spread the message that in order for there to be justice in the world there needs to be equality between men and women.
