Fundraising for WOMANKIND
Getting together with friends or colleagues to raise money for WOMANKIND Worldwide, or fundraising on your own or within a group you're a member of, is a great way of reaching out to women struggling to emerge from poverty and silence.
Do your own thingIf you have a hobby you're passionate about, love cooking for friends, play sport or music, make things, want to clear out the loft and have a garden sale, love paintball, are getting married and don't need gifts, you can raise money and enjoy it. We can give you leaflets to explain what WOMANKIND is all about. For more ideas, download a fundraising pack.
WOMANKIND supporters are signing up for a number of different organised events to raise money for our work including a trek in Kenya happening in 2008. In 2007 one supporter, Mel Rendall, cycled across Cambodia raising almost £2,000 for WOMANKIND. As part of her fundraising activities Mel organised a comedy night. She says "Organising a fundraising event, while taking an initial period of time and work, is rewarding - it not only offers the chance to raise a significant amount of money but you get to give people something in return for their support."
There are lots of organised events that enable you to raise money for charity. Marathons, the Three Peaks Challenge, a sky dive, white water rafting. You can also relish an overseas charity challenge, like climbing Kilimanjaro or trekking the Inca trail. For more ideas, email info@womankind.org.uk
Develop your own fundraising web-pageAt the Just Giving site you can create a web page for your WOMANKIND Worldwide fundraising event, which you can then direct your friends and family to. They can sponsor you through it via a secure link or give a donation in place of a birthday or anniversary present.
Take WOMANKIND to heart in your organisationWe hope that having looked around our website, you will think about how your community organisation could support WOMANKIND's work - either with a one-off event, or even by adopting us for a year. In some instances, we can arrange for a speaker to come and tell you about a visit to a WOMANKIND project.
