Welcome to the Challenging Violence, Changing Lives pages for pilot schools.
Your school is one of a small number of schools around the country (11 in total) who have agreed to pilot these materials over the next few years. The impact of the work on your school and students will be evaluated by an external team from Roehampton University. As this evaluation is a key tool in our strategy, the pre and post tests for your students are different from those undertaken by other schools – they have been specially developed for us by Professor Helen Cowie and Tony Daly from the University of Surrey with funding from the Nuffield Foundation.
In year 1, we would like you to run the pre-tests with a class from each year group, before they begin the work, then to run the post-test with the same classes as soon as possible after they have completed the work.
In year 2, we would like you to repeat this process, ideally with the same classes.
The work needs to be completed in the IT suite, as the data will be fed directly into a database then exported into the SPSS programme at The University of Surrey.
