A fulfilling experience

empty Volunteering for WOMANKIND is a fulfilling and stimulating experience that is an important commitment for me.

Volunteering has given me an invaluable insight into the work of an international development organisation. I have been able to work in different departments to get an overview of the organisation as a whole as well as concentrate on particular projects which interest me.

I have been involved in WOMANKIND events and have had to represent the organisation in various ways. This experience has enabled me to develop my skills in administration along with increasing my knowledge of women’s issues globally and raising my awareness of international gender policy. My role at WOMANKIND has directly translated to other work opportunities as it has developed my capabilities and provided me with transferable skills. empty

VOLUNTEERING

Volunteering is a chance to use your skills to make a tangible contribution to a worthy cause. WOMANKIND encourages the involvement of volunteers and highly values both the time and commitment given to us.

If you have some time to give, we sometimes have opportunities for volunteering at our London headquarters.

Offering a regular amount of time each week or month – say two days a week, or the first week of each month – is particularly helpful, as it enables us to involve you more and plan how best to support you.

We have 3 departments you can volunteer in:

Programmes and Policy, which works with the partners who run our projects in developing countries.
Fundraising and Communications, which raises money and produces supporter newsletters, our annual review and website, and is responsible for media relations.
Finance and Administration, which ensures we run smoothly and efficiently.

We pay travel expenses and lunch
