In Zimbabwe, WOMANKIND supports a project to provide women with free and easily accessible legal advice and representation. Guidance is offered on issues such as how to seek protection from domestic violence or on how to make sure that they can continue living in their property once their husbands have died of AIDS.??
The following is an extract from a letter received by our partner.
'Thank you for getting me a peace order during the time my former husband used to hit me for no apparent reason.
You went a step further to providing me with a lawyer when my husband filed for divorce.?? She helped me get a share of the property?after my husband had tried to sell the house we had owned without my consent and knowledge. And also helped me get three months notice to vacate the house. I moved out of the house when I bought my own house.
I would want to encourage WOMANKIND to help as many women as possible because I believe there are many women out there who have problems and need your help.'
