Roshana Arasaratnam

Roshana as worked both inside and outside the UK across the public sector, private sector and not for profit sector as a public finance specialist both as a qualified chartered accountant and economist.

She brings a broad range of skills to Womankind, having worked in a credit ratings agency, UK public sector and the private sector advising organisation on financial matters, particularly when traditional funding sources were changing. At the same time, Roshana has been Treasurer of the Hansard Society, a parliamentary think-tank for 10 years, leading on finance related matters including budget, financial statements and regular reporting to Board and members ensuring the financial viability was maintained during an changing funding climate. 

Roshana started her career as a Public Sector Auditor at PriceWaterhouseCoopers and then went on to be Head of Performance at Lambeth Council, followed by Head of Finance at Hackney Council. Most recently she has led the UK, Nordics and Netherlands team for Moody’s Public Sector Europe and is a frequent spokesperson for Moody’s on UK public finance matters and in their intersection with the capital markets. 

During her varied career, Roshana has worked as accountant, economist and strategist for a number of organisations and holds an MA Cantab, Masters in Public Administration, and MPhil as well as being a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of England and Wales. During her 20 year career, she has worked primarily in the UK with short stints in France, USA and in Sri Lanka, brining tri sector experience across governmental, private sector and civil society organisations.
