Giving time is just as valuable as giving money. You can volunteer at our office, on our board or donate your skills and you’ll make a real impact on the lives of women and girls.
Volunteer in the Womankind office
Develop your skills and experience in an area that interests you and make a valuable contribution to a cause you believe in. You will gain first-hand experience of working in an international development organisation and could work on a number of different projects across the organisation. We will provide lunch and travel expenses as well as a reference on request.
If you can commit to two or three days work a week for at least three months, and you support Womankind’s values, you may be able to volunteer at our London office. Please note: we do not send volunteers overseas.
We aren't currently looking for volunteers in our office.
Womankind is supported by some fantastic ambassadors who are committed to our mission, and to helping raise awareness of our work and our partners around the world. You can find out more about our ambassadors here.
Join our board or committees
Womankind’s Board of Trustees is made up of volunteers with specific skills, including accountancy, law, international development and fundraising. The Board leads the strategic direction of the organisation, working closely with the Chief Executive (and the senior management team) and ensures that the organisation delivers its vision and mission. Womankind also has a Finance & Resources Committee.
We are currently looking a new Chair of our Board of Trustees.
Information about the role and how to apply can be found here.
Pro bono and networking support
Donating your skills or taking the time to introduce Womankind to your networks is an extremely valuable way to support our work. For example, other volunteers have given pro bono training on presentation skills or set up networking events for their colleagues and friends to spread the word about our amazing partners around the world.

“I was a volunteer in the policy and communications department at Womankind for six months. I was considered a core member of the team and have played a key role in a number of projects. I worked on a lobbying project to ensure that violence against women and girls is at the apex of the government’s agenda. Working here gave me the opportunity to work towards ensuring that women all over the world enjoy the same basic freedoms, while learning from committed and inspirational women who believe in their ability to evoke change on a global scale.” Natalia Gale
“I had heard about the work Womankind does and was really interested in being part of that. I was also eager to find out what it was like to work in the development sector and to apply what I’d learnt at university in the workplace. I had an opportunity to participate in a huge variety of work. This has provided me with some really useful skills and given me great insight into what it’s like to work for a women’s rights organisation.” Clare Power
