Stand with Afghan women and girls

The Taliban's ‘vice and virtue’ laws aim to erase Afghan women from public life.

Life for women in Afghanistan continues to become unimaginably difficult. New ‘vice and virtue’ laws introduced by the Taliban, force women to completely veil themselves from head to toe in thick material and bans them from speaking or reciting poetry in public. It even includes women’s voices being heard from within their homes on the street.

These laws claim that if Afghan women are suppressed, then they will not lead men  into “temptation.”  Women ‘suspected’ of breaching these new laws could be detained and punished ‘in a manner deemed appropriate’, by the Taliban.

Please donate whatever you can today, to stand with Afghan human rights defenders trying to keep the women’s movement going in the face of this oppressive regime.

Women and girls are attempting to carry on with their lives. It is an act of unseen, unheard bravery. Will you stand with them today by making a donation?
