Susan’s marathon

Susan stands smiling with her London Marathon medal around her neck

Susan raised over £3,500 running the 2017 Virgin London Marathon for Womankind.

"I was delighted and proud to run the London Marathon on behalf of Womankind Worldwide. The support from the team in the lead up to the event and for my fundraising was fantastic. On the day itself, the enthusiastic cheering and smiling faces at half way was a very welcome sight and the cup of tea when I finished was possibly one of the nicest I have had in my life!

Was it hard? Yes, of course, it’s 26.2 miles. Would I do it again? Absolutely"

What your fundraising can achieve

£546 could pay to make and broadcast a radio programme highlighting the dangers of FGM and child marriage in Kenya

could provide an annual scholarship to 10 Dalit women, to go back and complete their schooling in Nepal

could stock a clinic in a women's shelter with medicine and supplies for 1 year in Ethiopia
