A school held a fundraising event to celebrate International Women's Day

There are so many ways to raise funds and awareness of Womankind’s work while having fun too. Our supporters have shaved their heads, ran marathons, asked for donations instead of birthday presents and held bake sales to name a few.

Here are some of our amazing fundraiser’s stories:

Etta shaved her head on International Women's Day to raise money, raising over 4,000 pounds

Brave the shave

On International Women’s Day, Etta shaved her head in support of women’s rights. She raised a whopping £3,620 for Womankind.

“As a mother of two daughters, I want them to grow up in a society where both men and women are equal. At home, in the workplace, I believe that they should always feel safe and confident in a just environment, without having to question it.”

Birthday celebrations

Long-time supporter, Joyce, organised a collection for Womankind on behalf of her 70th birthday and raised a fantastic £270!

“It was very rewarding to feel that my birthday was able to help other women. I have always had a great passion for furthering women's development and opportunities.”

Sophie and Dawn trekked Machu Picchu in Peru, to support Womankind

Trekking overseas

Mother and daughter, Dawn and Sophie, trekked Machu Picchu to support women and girls. They raised an incredible £4,120!

“We chose to fundraise for Womankind Worldwide as we both realised that we take so much of our lives for granted, when many women are still denied basic rights. We indulge in so much that we don't need when, for many, the only thing that matters is a roof over your head, some food, water and safety.”

There are plenty of overseas challenges for you to conquer, get in touch to find out more.
