Be bald and brave

“It was nothing like the trauma some women experience, but it’s a gesture of solidarity and support”Amisha Ghadiali

Losing your hair is a brave way to make a statement, as well as raise money, as Amisha proved when she raised £1,500 in support of women when she shaved her head live in front of friends. She was inspired to do it after reading that shaving women’s heads forcibly can be used as a punishment or weapon in conflict. As well as donating to Womankind, she gave her 20 inches of hair to the Little Princesses charity that makes wigs for children with cancer.

Coffee mornings & tea parties

Why not hold a coffee morning or tea party in aid for Womankind? Spend time with family and friends over a hot drink and cake as you raise vital funds for women and girls around the world.

One dress

Caitlin decided to raise awareness and funds by wearing one dress for a whole month (yes, she was allowed to wash it overnight).

“All through March, I will be wearing the same black dress to raise money for Womankind. Everyday I’m reminded of the chances and opportunities I’ve been given that so many women around the world don’t have. Womankind actively challenge this and make the world a better place for women. That’s why I raised money for them.” Caitlin Rushby
