How do you put feminism into action at Womankind?
I will champion intersectional approaches that acknowledge how overlapping identities shape women’s experiences. True gender equity requires addressing these intersecting barriers to ensure every woman’s voice is heard, respected, and empowered. I will also leverage my expertise in risk management and operational strategy to continue the reflections and actions on women’s rights, working to create inclusive systems that leave no woman behind.
Tell us about your feminist journey?
It all began with recognising the systemic barriers women face, particularly in education, careers, and leadership. Seeing how inequality impacts opportunities and outcomes sparked a desire to understand the root causes. The more I learned, the more I felt compelled to be part of the solution—by speaking up, advocating for gender equity, supporting women-led initiatives, and creating spaces where women can share experiences, learn, lead, thrive, and be heard. To me, feminism is about choice, dignity, and ensuring every woman has the freedom and resources to thrive without discrimination or bias.

Wangari Maathai inspires me deeply for her fearless advocacy for women’s rights, environmental justice, and democracy. Her ability to challenge oppressive systems while empowering women at the grassroots level exemplifies the power of intersectional feminism in driving meaningful, lasting change.
