How do you put feminism into action at Womankind?
In my role as Communications Officer, I work within our small and creative communications team to amplify stories from Womankind, our partners, projects and focus countries through our website, social media, publications and campaigns.
One of my key focuses is storytelling, working closely with our partners to illustrate the impact of women’s rights organisations and feminist movements.
Tell us about your feminist journey?
Reading feminist authors, admiring women in music and the arts and naturally being drawn to social and environmental justice issues are all key aspects of my feminist journey. After studying Linguistics at university and focusing in on language, gender and intersectionality, I knew that I wanted to work in feminist spaces and be part of the movement.
A feminist hero of yours?
bell hooks is one of my all time favourite thinkers. She deepened my understanding of feminism, emboldened my desire to demand change, and inspired me to always stay curious.
