The collective voices of women’s rights organisations, feminist movements and, activists are more powerful in demanding transformative change with respect to the rights of diverse girls, women and people of other genders.
Together with our partners, grantees and allies, we are part of an influential global movement that’s breaking barriers in how advocacy is done. By centering a decolonised feminist perspective that prioritises collective care, we are influencing the agenda with governments, civil society, philanthropy, the media and in communities. Here are some examples of how we did that in 2023/24.
Feminist movemnets are pivotal in bringing about the changes needed to end femicide. In recognition of this, Womankind focused its 2023 16 Days of Activism campaign on creating awareness and provoking critically needed debate on how to address it.
In June 2023, the AWESOME consortium launched the campaign #SafeAtWork, #SafeinSociety to push for the implementation of International Labour Organisation’s Violence and Harassment Convention (C190).
CSW68 opened a platform for Womankind and our partners to amplify the importance of a feminist approach in influencing gender financing to build a just and fair economic system that works for all women and girls.
