Womankind Worldwide at this year’s WoW Festival in Manchester

From 24-26 May 2024, Women of the World (WoW) festival will be holding its first debut in Manchester partnering with Factory International at the Aviva Studios. This festival – the world’s largest women’s festival of its kind – is a global movement that brings together women and girls to advocate for gender equality and challenge some of the most pressing issues that have been a barrier towards a gender equal world.
Held annually, WoW is a celebration bustling with frank conversations, talks, workshops, performances, comedy and more, covering everything from housing, childcare and money to race, jobs, sex, ageing, plumbing, sport and being a mum.
This year, Womankind Worldwide will be participating in WoW festival by spotlighting the #EverydayFeminism campaign through a stall at the WoW marketplace where festival go-ers can watch our Everyday Feminism film and share their acts of everyday feminism, alongside and a WoW Big Ideas talk.
Womankind’s Communications Manager Sally Akinyi will take the stage on 25th May for her WoW Big Idea to draw inspiration towards Everyday Feminism and why we’ve been igniting this social debate for the last two years – alongside world class speakers such as DJ Paulette, Julia Gillard- Australia’s former Prime Minister, Maxine Peake among others.

Womankind believes in a world where women, girls and persons of all genders – in all their diversities- live without fear or violence. We support diverse women’s rights organisations representing the most marginalised groups including LBTQI+, women with disabilities, young women, indigenous women and women in the criminal justice system to challenge inequality at home and at the workplace. We fund and strengthen these movements and advocate for change alongside them.
