Everything we do is in pursuit of our vision of our feminist future.
We anchor our work in our five strategic goals to acheive this.
In 2024/25, two collaborative partner projects came to an end. Collective Action to Realise Equality (CARE) in Zimbabwe and Women’s Advocacy for Voice and Empowerment (WAVE II) in Uganda. Here’s a look at the impact of these two movement strengthening projects.
The Advancing Women’s Engagement: Strengthening Opportunities to Mobilise for Equality (AWESOME) is a programme that aims to strengthen the women’s movement across Ethiopia, Kenya and Uganda. This year, the five partners in the consortium have been continuing the #SafeatWork #SafeinSociety campaign which calls for the ratification of ILO 190 – ILO 190 is the first international treaty that recognises a world free of work free of violence and harassment. For International Women’s Day 2025, Womankind took a step into feminist publishing with the launch of Everyday Feminism: The Anthology. Capturing the stories of 10 feminist activists from our global ecosystem, the anthology offers a powerful window into what it means to be a feminist today, contextualising activism across diverse struggles, from disability justice and land rights to LBTQI+ rights and youth organising.
The book was launched on 6 March 2025, at an event in London featuring donors, feminist allies, media and a panel of leading activists. Since launch, 100 physical copies have been distributed, and the digital edition has reached a wide audience.
This project reflects our commitment to influencing the agenda by ensuring our partners’ voices are not only heard but centred in feminist discourse. The anthology affirms our role in archiving and amplifying feminist stories globally, and in doing so, helps shape public understanding of feminist work. Womankind is not just a supporter of feminist movements, but a convenor and amplifier of their knowledge, strategy, and vision. Through this work, we are actively influencing public and donor discourse on feminism, development, and power.
