Ethiopian Women with Disability National Association (EWDNA) is a membership organisation working to deliver equal rights and fight social discrimination against women and girls with disabilities.
EWDNA focuses on the issues affecting the lives of women and girls with disabilities in Ethiopia and works to build their capacity, skills, opportunities and inclusion in society. Specifically, EWDNA serves women and girls who are deaf, blind, autistic, have an intellectual disability, have a physical disability, or have been affected by leprosy.
EWDNA’s activities include the provision of services in rehabilitation, education and skills training; the promotion of mobility and accessibility, reproductive health, and HIV/AIDS education/support; and the full participation of persons with disabilities amongst government bodies, civil society groups, and society more broadly.
Today, EWDNA’s members total more than 1,150 women with disabilities across six regions (Mekele, Bahir Dar, Hawassa, Adama, Diredawa, & Harar).
