National Association of Women’s Organisations in Uganda (NAWOU)

National Association of Women’s Organisations in Uganda (NAWOU) is an umbrella organisation of women founded and women led organisations that trains women and other women’s right organisations in areas such as gender and human rights, economic rights, health, women and the environment, and leadership.

NAWOU’s mission is to promote the growth of a strong women’s movement in Uganda that advocates for the rights of women and enhance their social-cultural, economic and political status.

Their mission for a society free of injustice is guided by their programmes dedicated to peace and security in the lives of women, economic empowerment and strengthening women’s participation and representation in leadership and decision making.
