Womankind announces 15 new grantee partners through Her Voice Fund 

Strong, diverse women’s movements and women’s rights organisations have the power to contribute to a just, equal and equitable world for girls, women and people of all genders. We have seen how solidarity, collective action and allyship can seed the ground in leading solutions to some of the most pressing social and political problems across the world. 

However, adequate resourcing for women’s rights organisations is still a barrier in catalysing action and promoting gender equality. Many organisations are often operating in survival mode, unable to execute their own agendas based on knowledge of the challenges facing women and girls. Womankind Worldwide recognises the role of flexible funding to support women’s rights organisations across our focus countries in Kenya, Afghanistan, Ethiopia, Uganda, Nepal and Zimbabwe. 

We are pleased to announce the first cohort of 15 grantees from the third cycle of Her Voice Fund (HVF). HVF supports feminist organisations and activists in the Global South working with women who face discrimination based on their marginalised identities – such as women with disabilities, LBTQI+ women, young women and incarcerated women – as they are often excluded from decision-making spaces. 

From Kenya, Uganda, Zimbabwe, Nepal and Ethiopia- the new grantee partners will be championing advocacy across a myriad of women’s rights issues: LBQ rights, sex workers’ rights, self-care and safe spaces for women politicians and women human rights defenders, the rights of women with disabilities, ecofeminism amongst others.
